zorbing, n. orig. N.Z. Brit. |ˈzɔːbɪŋ|, U.S. |ˈzɔrbɪŋ| Forms: also with capital initial. [Apparently ‹Zorb n. (see note) + -ing suffix1. Zorb n. is first attested only three months later than the present word.] A sport, originating in New Zealand, in which a participant is secured within the inner capsule of a large, inflated, transparent PVC ball which is then rolled along the ground, down hills, etc.
