yttria Chem.|ˈɪtrɪə| Also ittria. [mod.L. (Ekeberg, 1797), f. the name of Ytterby: see ytterbite.] An earth obtained as a white powder from gadolinite and other rare minerals, consisting of sesquioxide of yttrium (Y2O3).
