-ll (l; after a consonant |(ə)l|), contraction of will, after pronouns ending in a vowel, as I'll, he'll, you'll, who'll; sometimes, more colloquially, after other words as in that'll do, John'll go. Formerly written also 'le, as in Ile or I'le, youle.
