lipoxenous, a. Bot.|lɪˈpɒksɪnəs| [f. as prec. + ξέν-ος a host + -ous.] Deserting its host; said of certain parasitic fungi which after a time quit the plant which served as a host for them. So liˈpoxeny, the phenomenon of desertion of the ‘host’ by parasites.
