lævulose, levulose Chem.|ˈliːvjʊləʊs| [f. L. læv-us left + -ule + -ose.] Formerly, the form of glucose which is lævo-rotatory to polarized light; now, the naturally occurring (lævo-rotatory) form of fructose, d(—)-fructose. (Cf. dextrose.)
