xanthoxenite Min.|zænθəʊˈziːnaɪt| [ad. G. xanthoxen (Laubmann & Steinmetz 1920, in Zeitschr. f. Krist. LV. 580), f. Gr. ξανθο- xantho-, after G. cacoxen cacoxenite: see -ite1.] A hydrated basic phosphate of calcium and ferric iron, Ca4Fe3+2(PO4)4(OH)2·3H2O, occurring as yellow translucent triclinic crystals that are soft and have a waxy appearance.
