In the Nottinghamshire area, the local name of a children's game (see quot. 1902).
1902Eng. Dial. Dict. III. 576/1 Lerky, a noisy game, played with any old tin; this being placed in a ring, while all except one hide themselves, then rush out if unobserved and kick the tin out of the ring. Somewhat similar to hide-and-seek. 1913D. H. Lawrence Sons & Lovers I. iv. 75 Paul was towed round at the heels of Annie, sharing her game.
