wyomingite, n.|waɪˈəʊmɪŋaɪt| [f. Wyoming, name of a state of the western U.S. + -ite1.] 1. Petrogr. A porphyritic volcanic rock, usu. of a light brown colour, which consists of roughly equal amounts of leucite and ferromagnesian minerals, and contains phenocrysts of phlogopite.

IV. 120 The only rock type from this locality [Leucite Hills] described by Zirkel or Emmons is, according to the experience of both Kemp and myself, much less abundant than the next variety to be discussed.
