Anguˈstura, Angostura A town on the Orinoco, now called Ciudad Bolivar. It gives its name to a bark, valuable as a febrifuge and tonic, the produce of Galipea or Cusparia febrifuga. The word Angostura as a brand of aromatic bitters is a registered trade mark. It derives its name from the fact that it was originally made in the town of Angostura, but it is not made from the bark exported from Angostura.
