▪ I. legh|liː| Also leigh. [Etym. unknown.] = Irish deer, elk (Irish a. 2 b).
1774T. West Antiquities Furness p. xlvi, That the legh was a native of Furness, is evident from the heads of those animals frequently found in Furness. 1795A.
