释义 |
angio- first element in many compounds, representing Roman transliteration of Gr. ἀγγεῖο-ν a vessel, receptacle, dim. of ἀγγε- (ἄγγος) a chest, box. Now used chiefly in terms relating to seed- and blood-vessels. Sometimes spelt angeio-; but Roman ī is the true equivalent of Gr. ει. Except where the stress falls on the o |ændʒɪˈɒ-|, the pronunciation ought to be |ænˈdʒaɪəʊ| for |æŋˈgaɪəʊ-| but |ˈændʒɪəʊ-| is in common use. |
