laddu, n.|ˈlʌduː| Also laddoo, ladoo, ladu, etc. Pl. laddus. [Hindi laḍḍū.] A type of Indian sweetmeat, usu. made from a dough of flour, sugar, shortening, etc., which is fried and then shaped into balls; a ball of this. Cf. *jalebi n.
