† kinboot Sc. Obs. Forms: 5 kynbwt, -bute, 6 kinbute, 7 -but, (9 -bot). [f. kin n.1 + boot n.1 9.] A wergeld or man-boot paid by a homicide to the kin of the person slain. (Not the same as the OE. cynebót or royal compensation.)
