Having a white tail; white-tailed deer = white-tail 2; white-tailed eagle, the European sea eagle (see eagle n. 1 a); white-tailed gnu, the common (as distinct from the brindled) gnu, Connochætes gnou; white-tailed ptarmigan, a ptarmigan, Lagopus leucurus, found in western North America.
