kerasin Biochem.|ˈkɛrəsɪn| Also cer-, -ine. [irreg. f. Gr. κέρας horn + -in1.] A cerebroside, C48H93NO8, which gives lignoceric acid, d-galactose, and sphingosine on hydrolysis and is a white amorphous powder.
