Kentucky Chiefly U.S.|kɛnˈtʌkɪ| Also Kentucke. [From the name of the river; the original meaning of this is uncertain.] One of the south-eastern United States, lying south of the Ohio River and east of the Mississippi; used attrib. to designate things originating in, or connected with, this state.
