Kennedya|kɛˈniːdɪə| [mod. bot. L. (Ventenat, 1804), from Kennedy, name of a gardener of Hammersmith.] A genus of perennial herbaceous climbing plants (family Leguminosæ), natives of Australia and Tasmania, some of which are cultivated for the sake of their flowers; also (with lower-case initial) a plant of this genus. K. prostrata is the coral-creeper.
