[Ger., ad. med.L. capella chapel.] In Germany, a musical establishment consisting of a band or orchestra, with or without a choir, such as used to be maintained at most of the German courts. Hence ‖ kapellmeister |kaˈpɛlˈmaɪstər|, the leader or conductor of a kapelle, chapel choir, or orchestra.
