‖ Kaddish|ˈkædɪʃ| Also 7 kaddesch, kiddisch. [Aram. qaddīsh holy, holy one.] A portion of the daily ritual of the synagogue, composed of thanksgiving and praise, concluding with a prayer for the advent of universal peace; specially recited also by orphan mourners.
