johannsenite Min.|dʒəʊˈhænsənaɪt| [f. the name of Albert Johannsen (1871–1962), American geologist: see -ite1.] A brown, greyish, or greenish silicate of calcium and manganese, CaMnSi2O6, which often occurs with partial substitution of ferrous iron for manganese.
