▪ I. izard (ˈɪzəd, ‖ izar) Also isard, izzard. [ad. F. isard (1553 in Hatz.-Darm.), Gascon isart: ‘perh. of Iberian origin’ (Darm.).] A capriform antelope allied to the chamois, found in the Pyrenees.
