Weatings, n. pl.|ˈwiːtɪŋz| Also w(h)eatings. [f. respelling of wheat n. + -ings, as in middlings s.v. middling n. 3 c.] A proprietary name for the residue of the milling of wheat (the sharps: see sharp n. 9), used as food for farm animals.
