amyloplast Bot.|ˈæmɪləʊplɑːst, -æ-| [ad. F. amyloplaste (L. Errera L'Épiplasme des Ascomycètes (1882) x. 74), f. amylo- + -plast.] A colourless granule in a plant-cell, around which a starch-grain is formed.
