water-thyme †1. An (? imaginary) aquatic species of thyme.
1655Walton Angler vi. (1661) 132 Some think that he [sc. the grayling] feeds on Water-Time, and smells so at his first taking out of the water. 2. The American weed Elodea canadensis (formerly Anacharis Alsinastrum), now common in English waters.
