isocarboxazid Pharm.|ˌaɪsəʊkɑːˈbɒksəzɪd| [f. isocarbox- (by rearrangement of part of the chemical name: see quot. 1959) + hydrazide.] A whitish powder that is a hydrazine derivative, C6H5CH2NH·NHCO·C3HNO·CH3, and is used as an antidepressant.
