iodoso(-)|aɪəˈdəʊsəʊ| used in Chem. as comb. form of iodous a. to indicate the presence of an IO{b1} group in a compound, as in ioˌdosoˈbenzene, C6H5IO, a yellow amorphous powder which disproportionates to iodobenzene and iodoxybenzene, and explodes when heated. Also as quasi-adj.
