† wantrokie, v. Obs. [ME. (Kentish) f. wan-; the second element is obscure, as troke v. yields no good sense.] intr. To despair; in quot. impers., with dative of person and of. Hence † wantroking vbl. n. despair; false or mistaken expectation.
