‖ intermaxilla Anat.|ˌɪntəmækˈsɪlə| Pl. -æ. [mod.L., f. inter- 3 + maxilla.] Each of two bones situated between the maxillary bones of the upper jaw, in man small and soon fusing with these, but in most mammals large, distinct, and situated in front of them (thus more often called premaxillæ or premaxillary bones).
