Wagener|ˈvɑːgənə(r)| Also erron. Wagner. The name of the Abram Wagener (fl. 1796) American farmer, used absol. or attrib. to designate an apple tree or its fruit belonging to a variety developed on his farm in Penn Yan, New York State (see quot. 1956).
