Something that intensifies; an intensifying agent: spec. a. Photogr. (see next, 1 b); b. Gram. = intensive n.; c. = hydraulic intensifier (s.v. hydraulic a. and n. A. 2); d. = image intensifier (s.v. image n. 8).
