Indic, a.1|ˈɪndɪk| [ad. L. Indic-us, a. Gr. Ἰνδικός Indian.] Of or belonging to India; Indian, Hindu. Also, designating the Indian branch of the Indo-Iranian languages, including the dead languages Sanskrit, Prakrit, and Pali and the living languages Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, etc.
