progamic, a. Biol.|prəʊˈgæmɪk| [f. Gr. πρό, pro-2 + γάµος marriage + -ic.] That precedes the specialization of the gametes (sexual or pairing cells). So progamous |ˈprɒgəməs| a., applied to an ovum which has not been impregnated by a spermatozoon.
