imbauba|ɪmˈbɔːbə, ɪmbəˈuːbə| [a. Pg. imbaúba, umbaúba, f. Tupi ambauba, umbauba.] A Brazilian tree of the genus Cecropia, esp. C. peltata, which has a hollow stem and yields a softwood timber; also called trumpet-tree, trumpet-wood. Cf. cecropia 1.
