Altaian, a. and n.|ælˈteɪɪən| [a. Fr. altaïen f. Altai (mountains in Asia): see -an.] A term applied by Castrèn to the peoples and languages lying between the Altai Mountains and Arctic Ocean; called by some ethnologists Ugro-Finnish.
