Painful spasmodic contraction of the vagina in response to physical contact or pressure; vulvismus.
1866J. M. Sims Uterine Surg. 326 By the term vaginismus I mean an excessive hyperæsthesia of the hymen and vulvar outlet. 1879St. George's Hosp. Rep.
