A yellow or brown mineral originally described as a hydrated vanadate of lead and zinc but later shown to be a hydrated arsenate of lead and uranium.

Mineralogist XLVII. 418 Hügelite was described by Dürrfeld (1913) as a hydrous lead zinc vanadate... Transparent to translucent crystals are brown to orange-yellow... Microchemical tests showed Pb, U and As as main components, but no Zn, V or P... The formula is proposed as Pb2(UO2)3(AsO4)2(OH)4.3H2O. |
