An instrument for measuring (a) the quantity of blood passing through a vessel in a given time; (b) the pressure of the blood (= hæmodynamometer); or (c) the amount of hæmoglobin in the blood (= hæmoglobinometer).

I give this name to an instrument invented by Ludwig and Dogiel..The main object of the instrument is to measure the quantity of blood that flows through a vessel in a given time. 1886Syd. Soc.
