alpaca|ælˈpækə| Formerly alpaco. [a. Sp. alpaca or al-paco, f. al Arab. article often prefixed to names + paco, prob. a native Peruvian name.] 1. a. A Peruvian quadruped, a species of llama, having long fine woolly hair.
