The name of a town in W. Turkey used attrib. or ellipt. to denote a type of antique rug made there.
1901J. K. Mumford Oriental Rugs iv. 35 For rugs of the heavier quality, such as the ponderous Oushaks and Anatolians, the sheep of the Asia Minor Plains produce a wool that is adequate in length, and..soft to the touch. 1905M.
