[L. mentum chin], pertaining to the hyoid bone together with the chin. hyoˈplastron [plastron] = hyosternal n.; hence hyoˈplastral a., belonging to the hyoplastron. hyoˈscapular a., pertaining to the hyoid bone and the scapula. hyoˈthyroid a., pertaining to the hyoid bone and the thyroid cartilage; also as n. = hyothyroid muscle.
