hydrosome Zool.|ˈhaɪdrəʊsəʊm| Also in Lat. form hydrosoma. [ad. mod.L. hydrosōma, f. hydra + Gr. σῶµα body.] The entire body of any hydrozoan, esp. that of a colonial hydrozoan consisting of a number of zooids connected by a cœnosarc.
