hydroborane Chem.|haɪdrəʊˈbɔəreɪn| Also -boran. [ad. G. hydroboran (A. Stock 1926, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. LIX. 2229): cf. borane.] The name used by A. Stock for any of the hydrides or boron that are richer in hydrogen than others with the same number of boron atoms.

XXI. 541 When all of the B atoms are tervalent..the names should be ‘diboran’, ‘triboran’, ‘decaboran’, etc., for B2H4, B3H5, B10H12, etc. The names for the hydroborans [printed hydroborons] are illustrated by the following: B2H6 = dihydro-diboran, B5H9 = dihydro-pentaboran, B5H11 = tetrahydropentaboran, etc. 1933A.
