a. Physiol. ‘The pellucid point which is the first stage of developement of the nucleolus of Schleiden’ (Mayne).
b. Path. Recklinghausen's term for the translucent substance found in tubercle; called by Langhans ‘canalised fibrin’ (Syd. Soc. Lex.).
c. An opalescent substance resembling chitin, which is the chief constituent of the wall of a hydatid cyst. (So called by Hoppe-Seyler.)
