hula|ˈhuːlə| Also † hura; hula-hula. [Hawaiian.] a. An Hawaiian dance, with six basic steps, which portrays through symbolic and imitative gestures natural phenomena, sports, and historical or mythological subjects. Also attrib. Hence as v., to dance the hula.
