‖ Houstonia Bot.|huːˈstəʊnɪə| [mod.L., named after Dr. William Houston, an 18th c. botanist (died 1733).] A North American genus of plants (N.O. Rubiaceæ), with delicate four-parted flowers of various colours; by some botanists included in the genus Hedyotis or Oldenlandia. About 20 species are known; the best-known being H. cærulea, the Bluet.
