homodromous, a.|həʊˈmɒdrəməs| [f. mod.L. homodrom-us, f. Gr. ὁµο- homo- + -δροµος running + -ous. In mod.F. homodrome.] Running in the same direction: opp. to heterodromous. †a. Mech. Applied to levers of the second and third orders, in which the power and the weight move in the same direction. b. Bot. Turning in the same direction, as two generating spirals of a phyllotaxis (e.g. on the main stem and on a branch).
