hierograph|ˈhaɪərəʊgrɑːf, -græf| [f. Gr. ἱερός sacred + -γραϕος written (see -graph). Cf. eccl. Gr. (τὰ) ἱερόγραϕα representations of holy things.] A sacred inscription or symbol: a hieroglyph.
