▪ I. ‖ allemande, n.|aləˈmɑ̃ːd, -ˈmand, ˈæləmænd, ˈælmænd| [a. mod.Fr. allemande German (sc. dance). For the various historical forms under which the word was formerly englished, see Almain.] 1. a. A name given to various German dances.
