One of several alternative forms of the same gene, occupying the same relative positions in homologous chromosomes. Hence aˌlleloˈmorphic a., pertaining to or of the nature of allelomorphs; aˌlleloˈmorphism, the existence, transmission, or inheritance of allelomorphs.
