Halafian, a. Archæol.|həˈlɑːfɪən| [f. Tell Halaf in north-eastern Syria + -ian.] Denoting the chalocolithic culture which existed in northern Syria and Iraq, characterized by polychrome pottery, evidence of which was first discovered at Tell Halaf.
